My grandmother was Lena Wood Clyde. My father, Arthur Clyde said she taught all the children in the community including her own family at the Hickory School near Sabula. She lived from 1875-1921, and my father was born in 1905, so the years she was teaching could have been somewhere between 1912 and 1921 when she died. Her father was John Wood of Sabula. Her mother was Esther Tierney Turney? (Faust--first husband) Wood. I'd surely like to know more about her, and I've never seen a picture of her. I was born in 1940, after she had been gone for many years. (I lived in Pennsylvania most of my life.) I know little about whole part of the family (Wood, that is) but I remember meeting some of them when I was a kid. These would be the siblings of Lena Wood. Agnes Wood lived in Sabula, and I also met another brother, Ike. I also met another sister of Lena Wood, Beatrice (Wood) Crossman, and she recalled some stories of her father, John Wood, that he had been in India. The Woods, I believe are buried in the Conway Cemetery. Art Clyde, Wayzata MN.

Hello - Mary Wood, a sister of Lena was my grandmother. She married James Uren and died 11 January 1901. I am trying to locate a death certificate of obituary for her. Some of the Wood family are indeed buried in Conway Cemetery. I have a genealory tree on ancestry .com that contains information on the Wood family. It is still a work in progress but you can view it there I named it myfamily. If I had an e-mail for you I could link you with it.
