Are their records or information available regarding the Clearfield County Home? I am trying to find out more information, as we have found SOLOMON's death record-- recorded 15 Jan 1897-- for his death that occured Sep 14, 1896 at the county home and the burial was in Sanborn cemetery. We have had no positive results in trying to work with the area churches in sanborn as well as those that maintain the cemetery, and it is very frustrating. I am seeking information on SOLOMAN HALLMAN (HALMAN, HOLMAN) as well as his wife BARBARA CARSON. I thank you in advance for any advice, suggestions, or assistance!

The Clearfield County Historical Society has county home records up to 1954. This home was closed in 1975. If you had a relative that died in the county home in 1986, perhaps they died at the Mt. Laurel Nursing Home.

OOOPS! I just modified my original message as i had a typo! The date of death is now corrected to read 1896 instead of 1986~! So, there are records available for 1896 at the Historical Society?

I was advised earlier this year by a society volunteer that the society had custody of a County Home ledger of its earliest admissions and discharges (Vol 1), but that someone had removed the ledger from the museum and its location is now unknown. I believe that ledger contains info that that I have sought for 35+ years. If anyone knows where the ledger is please let me know. Thanks.
