I am a decedent of James McCracken through William McCracken and Rachel Bell then Sarah McCracken and John Wagoner. I am trying to figure out how to find/request a will/probate for William and or Rachel. Rachel died in 1840 no date and William died 1/11/1851 in Bells township. I am also trying to find out where William and Rachel are buried. Does anyone know of Indexes, email addresses or where to write? Are there any local researchers available? Any help would be appreciated. Thank You Kathy Washington State

My relative Harry Henchbarger, married Hattie Netina Derrick in Kerr Addition, PA on 2 May 1882. Hattie Henchbarger (quite the name). Hattie's mother was Susan McCracken 1863-1938. Susan's father, David S. McCracken b. 1824 shows up in Bell Township on the 1850 census. It looks like he may have been boarding with someone.
In December 2012, I was in Askey Cemetery, Centre County, PA (not far from Clearfield) and saw McCracken headstones. Another hint may be Susan's obituary: 19 Jul 1938 , Clearfield Progress. Mrs. Susie Derrick, 75, died at 7 a.m. today at her home, 739 Weaver street. Her husband, Austin A. Derrick, survives. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the home, in charge of Rev. Zimmerman of West Side M. E. Church. Burial will be in Mt. Joy Cemetery. Feel free to contact me.
